Travel RN – Labor & Delivery (High-Risk) | Seattle, WA

Location: Seattle, WA 98122
Weekly Pay: $2400 – $2500
Shift: Night Shift | 3x12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Schedule: Every Other Weekend + Holidays as Needed
Float: Required (Postpartum, Antepartum & Sister Facilities)

Strict Submission Requirements (Read Carefully)
  • Must pass clinical review – NO exceptions
  • Current NURSYS proof required at submission
  • No first-time travelers accepted
  • Must have recent high-risk Labor & Delivery experience
Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a high-acuity, high-volume unit in Seattle, WA. This role is best suited for nurses who excel in fast-paced environments and have strong experience managing high-risk obstetric patients.

Unit Overview
  • High-Risk / High-Volume L&D Unit
  • Average Daily Census: ~15 patients/day
  • Deliveries: 500–600 per month
  • Rooms/Beds: 31
  • Operating Rooms: 4
  • Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
Patient Population
  • High-risk OB patients
  • Midwifery and private OB clients
  • Patients in substance recovery programs
  • Community-based maternal care populations
Key Responsibilities (HARD STOP SKILLS REQUIRED)
  • Circulate during deliveries (Mandatory)
  • Function as Baby Nurse during delivery and provide newborn care until transfer (Mandatory)
  • Perform newborn care, including:
    • Eye prophylaxis
    • Vitamin K injections (“eyes & thighs”)
    • Full newborn assessments
  • Manage high-risk medications including:
    • Heparin, Insulin, Magnesium Sulfate
  • Monitor patients using electronic fetal monitoring (EPIC system – required experience)
  • Provide care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
Floating Requirements
  • Must float to:
    • Postpartum
    • Antepartum
    • Sister facilities (Mother/Baby units)
✅ Required Qualifications
  • Active Washington RN License
  • BLS Certification
  • NRP Certification
  • 3–5 years of L&D experience (high-risk required)
  • Strong experience in high-acuity, fast-paced environments
⭐ Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of high-risk L&D experience
  • ACLS Certification
  • AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate Certification
Scheduling & Orientation
  • Schedule posted every 6 weeks based on unit needs
  • Pre-approved time off considered on a case-by-case basis
