Job Title: RN Labor and Delivery Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN/Fetal Heart Monitoring Must-Have: Cerner EMR Experience; EPIC Experience preferred Description: Delivers care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation in coordination with other health team members. Effectively interacts with the patient, significant others, and other health team members while maintaining high standards of professional nursing. Provides high quality care to adolescent and adult females, and neonates. During times of low census, may be placed on call. If called in, expected to respond and arrive on-site within one hour. Nurses function in all capacities: labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum, nursery, and NICU. There is one OR on the unit for C-sections, and nurses are required to go in on C-sections but will only be responsible for the baby and will not scrub in. Basic and intermediate fetal monitoring skills are required. Preferred certifications include STABLE, but not required. Follows AWHONN staffing guidelines. May be utilized in the pediatric department or acute care as a rescue or constant observer during low census periods.
