Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 7 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 34.5 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Must-Have: BSN required Description: Minimum of 14 beds available, including 5 beds designated for triage/inpatient care. There are 6 labor beds and 2 operating room beds. Certifications required include ACLS and NRP, with preference for RN-C. The charge nurse will not be responsible for patient assignments and will work 3 days a week alongside a unit leader. Scrub technicians will be utilized as nurse aides. Staff will be scheduled to work every third weekend during day shifts, with three weekend shifts expected in a four-week period. Night shift weekend coverage includes Friday and Saturday. The hospital has in-house coverage for hospitalists or intensivists three nights a week. An IV team is available 24/7, along with pharmacy support. Shifts on the unit require floating between OB or nursery, but nurses will not be taking on patients during this time. Floor-specific orientation will involve 2-3 shifts. Common patient diagnoses include C-sections, high-risk obstetric patients, and low-risk antepartum patients. It is essential that candidates have experience with high-risk cases and are comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment. Nurses will be responsible for conducting their own exams and full assessments, but will not insert IUPCs. Candidates should be prepared to discuss their skills and experience in customer service, along with their typical patient assignments.
