Description:
The Level 4 Registered Nurse is a professional caregiver who plans, provides, and directs patient care and education.
Utilizing the nursing process in accordance with patient care standards and physician orders is essential.
The nurse acts as a liaison between physicians, patients, and families.
Collaboration with other healthcare members is also required.
This position may assist in the orientation process of new personnel and can participate in health center and department committees.
The staff nurse must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care based on chronological age, developmental age, and psychosocial maturity.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct a comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessment of patients according to established standards.
Establish a collaborative plan of care based on assessment data with all involved disciplines.
Communicate this plan of care appropriately.
Implement and evaluate the plan of care based on identified patient goals and outcomes.
Modify the plan of care based on reassessment of the patient's status.
Complete all documentation according to established standards.
Utilize established documentation tools appropriately.
Assess the readiness of patients and significant others to learn.
Implement individualized education plans according to need.
Actively participate in department initiatives, including providing in-service opportunities.
Provide age-appropriate care for the specific population served.
Perform all functions according to established policies, procedures, and applicable professional standards.
Ensure an excellent service experience for all customers by consistently demonstrating the standards of performance each day.
