Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Must have an active license Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, NRP Must-Have: - Previous charge experience - Travel experience required - Patient ratio experience - Charting system experience Description: First-time travelers are welcome. Candidates can be submitted with a pending state license. Free rides provided in the event of floating. Patient diagnoses include labor and preterm labor. There are 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms. Responsibilities include circulating for OB-GYN, post-op, pre-op, and scrub procedures. Experience with low-risk antepartum and low-risk labor and delivery is required. Special procedures include blood and blood products administration, cardioversion, defibrillation, and the use of cooling and warming blankets. Candidates must be familiar with drains, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, syringe pumps, wound vacs, heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate. Attendance at all deliveries is required, including high-risk deliveries. Experience with GYN surgeries, couplet care, low-risk antepartum, and transition nursery is essential. Staffing ratios are 1:1 to 1:3. Floating may be required to post-partum and NICU based on skill set. References covering 1 year within the last 3 years are required during the compliance process. Job duties involve blood product administration, anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensive management, assisting with high-risk delivery, and circulating for C-sections. Experience with facility births per month ranging from 200-300 is preferred. Candidates should be competent in assessments and management of pain, maintaining central lines, and performing sterile vaginal exams. Use of intrauterine pressure catheters and PCA (IV) is required. The environment may involve isolation precautions and PPE management.
