Job Title: RN - Labor and Delivery Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:00) Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Current RN license Certifications: ACLS NRP BLS AWHONN Intermediate EFM (Required) Must-Have: Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience in High Risk Obstetrics. Candidates must possess current certification in Advanced EFM. Description: This position is for a Labor and Delivery RN on a contract basis. The shift schedule is from 19:00 to 07:00. No call is required for this role. The unit consists of 12 labor delivery recovery (LDR) beds, 5 antepartum beds, and 4 OB Emergency Department (OBED) rooms. There are also 3 operating room (OR) rooms available. The staff includes 72 individuals across nursing and surgical technician roles. The patient-to-nurse ratios are generally 1:2, transitioning to 1:1 based on patient acuity. Equipment used includes Alaris Pumps and CADD epidural pumps. The facility employs CPN and Meditech as its electronic medical record systems. Permanent positions are available in the unit. Typical procedures include C-sections, spontaneous vaginal deliveries (SVDs), dilation and curettage (D&C), dilation and evacuation (D&E), and twin deliveries with both C-sections and SVDs. This unit also handles scheduled and non-scheduled emergent cases, including massive transfusion protocols. Candidates with experience in High Risk Obstetrics, including massive transfusion and placenta accreta spectrum disorders will be prioritized during the hiring process. The ideal candidate will be highly engaged, motivated, and possess a positive outlook, being intentional in all interactions and procedures. The dress code requires sky blue scrubs. Staff members are given the opportunity for self-scheduling in coordination with their team. The team consists of a good mix of tenured staff and nurses with 1 to 2 years of experience. Physicians maintain great relationships with the nursing staff. The management team is actively engaged, often rounding on night shifts and weekends, promoting a supportive working environment.
