Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years of labor and delivery experience minimum License: Current RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Beginner, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM, NRP Must-Have: Epic experience Description: Position/Specialty: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Shift schedule is 3x12 hours, nights from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. Weekend requirement is every other weekend. On-call requirement is two 12-hour shifts in a six-week period. Traveling nurses must float within scope to meet facility needs. First-time travelers are accepted. Required certifications must be current and valid. Preferred certifications include AWHONN Advanced and STABLE. All requests for time off must be submitted at the time of application. Facility is allowed to call off one shift every two weeks. Acute care hospital setting. Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season, all employees may be assigned to emergency response teams. Candidate will be responsible for a variety of nursing tasks related to labor and delivery. Strong assessment and critical thinking skills are essential for this role. Effective communication with patients and interdisciplinary teams is required. Support for lactation and breastfeeding education is part of the role. Experience with high-risk deliveries and neonatal resuscitation is preferred. Candidates must be prepared to assist in both cesarean sections and vaginal deliveries. Knowledge of labor and delivery protocols and procedures is expected. Additional experience with medication administration and IV management is beneficial. All requirements must be met prior to employment.
