Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse position is located in Santa Monica, California. This role involves providing specialized care in a high-volume antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum environment within a busy acute care hospital setting. The successful candidate will support high-risk pregnancies, assist with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections, and work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, start date 08/31/2026
  • Required Qualifications: California state license in hand; 2 years of experience in labor and delivery, high-risk pregnancy monitoring, and fetal Heart monitoring; certifications in AWHONN Advanced or NCC EFM, ACLS, BLS, NRP, and FHM
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience assisting with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, intraoperative support, and working with high-acuity obstetric patients; ability to work in an operating room during C-sections
  • Float: Float to postpartum may be required based on staffing needs
  • Additional Information: The unit features 4 antepartum rooms, 9 labor/high-risk rooms, and 3 triage rooms. The facility serves approximately 200 deliveries per month. Experience with Epic charting system and hospital-based high-risk obstetric care is essential. Candidates should be comfortable working in sterile environments and handling high patient acuity.
