Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery (L&D) nurse opportunity in Spokane, Washington. This position involves providing specialized care during labor and delivery processes, with a focus on high-risk obstetrics; candidates will support maternal and neonatal health in a busy, Level II Trauma Center with a robust patient census.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid state license; at least 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery; certifications including Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), AWHONN Intermediate, Basic Life Support (BLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); experience with high-risk obstetric procedures and certifications in maternal fetal health preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with high risk pregnancies, active management of laboring patients, and familiarity with Epic charting system.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required between units.
  • Additional Information: Care involves managing patients with complex obstetric conditions such as pre-eclampsia, diabetes, multiple gestation, VBAC/TOLAC, and maternal emergencies. Candidates must demonstrate competence in assist with sterile speculum exams, vaginal deliveries, C-section procedures, neonatal resuscitation, and maternal assessments. The unit maintains a daily census of approximately nine patients, with an interdisciplinary support team available.
