Job Summary
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse position in Illinois. This role involves providing care for high-risk antepartum, labor, postpartum, and neonatal patients in a busy unit with a focus on high-quality maternal and neonatal care. The shift is scheduled for nights, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. The position requires working in a facility that handles a variety of obstetric cases including Level 2 nursery and high-risk pregnancies.
Job Details
- Location: Dixon, Illinois
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Active Illinois license, minimum of 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery, BLS certification, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification. Must have L&D, postpartum, and level 2 nursery experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience caring for gynecological surgical patients, dependability, positivity, and motivation.
- Float: Rotation with permanent staff; may assist in other departments such as med-surg or emergency during COVID surge periods.
- Charting System: EPIC - Community Works
- Equipment/Procedures/Skills: Caring for gynecological surgical patients, labor and delivery procedures.
- Orientation: 3 days of on-unit learning with classroom components, including testing if applicable.
- Community & Attractions: Riverfront location with walking paths, vibrant downtown area with boutiques and dining options.
- Additional Information: The facility follows AWHONN staffing guidelines, and scrubs are provided. Time off requests are regarded with prior notice before contract initiation.
