Job Title: Interventional RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Inpatient Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year RN experience required License: RN - Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN - Multi-state Compact Certifications: ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support BLS - Basic Life Support Must-Have: Ability to communicate and understand verbal and written English language. Positive attitude. Description: Functions under the direction of the Site Manager. Responsible for performing a wide variety of clinical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in the utilization of equipment for diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Responsible for implementing the nursing process based on expanded knowledge and experience. Provides patient care with an understanding and awareness of age-specific needs. Addresses biological, emotional, developmental, psychosocial, and patient/family education needs in providing care. Able to independently perform job functions. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Completion of necessary competencies. Provide pre and post-procedure care for invasive, interventional, and surgical procedures. Must use critical thinking skills. Deliver patient care in complex, multiple problem care situations. Job Responsibilities: Must be flexible with hours to meet departmental needs. Able to work scheduled and On-Call hours if necessary. Knows existing lines of communication and authority, handles communications properly, and is dependable and cooperative. Introduces self to patients and/or guardians upon entering the room using proper scripting. Transports patients as needed. Provides privacy and comfort for patients. Assists with maintenance of departmental records and compliance with standards and regulations. Completes necessary paperwork and answers department phone using proper scripting. Performs chart reviews as needed. Conducts QA/QC functions as needed. Assists in other areas and departments as needed. Maintains current successful completion of BLS and ACLS. Understands scope of service for the unit. Assists in in-service training for other staff as appropriate. Reviews cases with appropriate physicians as needed. Recognizes that total patient care starts upon arrival and ends when results are delivered. Meets service recovery and customer service guidelines as needed. Quality and Patient Safety: Verifies patient identification using two patient identifiers. Verifies written orders and seeks clarification if unclear. Understands and complies with verbal order requirements. Utilizes pre-procedural verification/time out form when appropriate. Patient Education: Responsible for patient and family education. Provides post-procedure home care instructions as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all relevant policies and standards.
