Description

Job Title: Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10-Hour Days Hours per Shift: 4x10s (Either 0700-1730 or 0730-1800 based on shift need) plus call; Call shifts average 4-5 shifts a month Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS; PALS if possible Must-Have: Neuro Interventional Radiology experience; Level I trauma experience; Dysrhythmia exam to be passed prior to acceptance; Travel teams must have their own vehicles Description: Seeking an Interventional Radiology RN or an ICU RN with relevant experience. Neuro Interventional Radiology experience is essential. Level I trauma experience is a requirement. Candidates must comply with a 50-mile radius rule. Dysrhythmia exam must be passed prior to acceptance; candidates have two attempts. If failed, the RN will be not eligible within the designated region for six months. Travel teams are expected to have their own vehicles. Natural hair color is required, and facial piercings are not allowed. Men must be clean-shaven for fit testing. A pass/fail exam will be conducted on day one of orientation. All RNs must complete skills lab training, including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes. Competence in maintaining a sterile field is critical. Those indicating a lack of competence may not be suitable for this position. Pre-op and recovery experience with patients post-conscious sedation and general anesthesia is necessary. The unit features five angio rooms and two CT scanners, among other facilities. Typical cases include body interventions and neuro endovascular procedures. Current RN roles do not involve neuro endovascular responsibilities, only body IR. Occasional work on Saturdays and possible holiday shifts may be required. Charting is performed using an electronic medical records system. Patients include both outpatient and inpatient populations, requiring critical care and telemetry interventions.
