Travel Nurse RN - Intermediate Care in Winston-Salem, NC

Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Winston-Salem, NC

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15) | Onsite

• Provide direct patient care on a mixed-acuity PCU/Med-Surg Telemetry unit with a patient population that includes COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, acute respiratory failure, pulmonary embolism, and patients requiring chest tubes, CPAP, and BiPAP.
• Monitor and manage telemetry, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
• Care for chronic trach and ventilator-dependent patients, adhering to a maximum of one vent patient per nurse at a time.
• Administer and manage IV drips including Dopamine, Cardizem, and Heparin.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including a team lead, respiratory therapists, admission/discharge nurse, vascular access team, RRT, code team, and behavioral health team.
• Float to like units within the facility as needed; work every other weekend.

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact state license (pending acceptable for submission).
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required.
• Proficiency in IV starts, ventilator management, telemetry, and CPAP/BiPAP.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start.
• Ability to work every other weekend and up to a 1:6 patient ratio in extreme situations.

• NIHSS certification preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems including EPIC, Pyxis, and SBAR communication framework.

• Work on a well-supported 48-bed unit with robust resources including an assistant nurse manager on every shift, dedicated respiratory therapists, a vascular access team, and an admission/discharge nurse to help manage workload.
• First-time travelers are welcome, and block scheduling can be accommodated when unit needs are met.
