Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care (IMC/PCU/Stepdown)

Schedule / Job TypeContract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Onsite | Rotating 12-Hour Shifts (7a–7p and 7p–7a) | Every other weekend and every other holiday required
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in an 8-bed observation/intermediate care unit with a 1:4 patient ratio
- Manage patients presenting with conditions including anemia, cellulitis, COPD, dehydration, and pre/post-op urology and GI cases
- Administer and monitor cardiac and medical drips including Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Insulin, and Heparin
- Read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips and perform EKG assessment as required
- Manage a high volume of admissions and discharges with average patient stays up to 48 hours
- Float to all inpatient units as needed, including IMC and CTU units
Required Qualifications- Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
- Current ACLS certification (AHA or ARC)
- Minimum of 3 years of RN experience
- At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment required
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health records (required)
Preferred Experience / Skills- NIHSS certification highly preferred
- Background in observation, medical-surgical, or telemetry units strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage tasks efficiently, and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
- Positive attitude with flexibility to adapt to frequent changes throughout a shift
