Registered Nurse (RN) – Float / Med Surg / Telemetry / Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – Nights

Key Responsibilities- Float across multiple units including Med Surg, Behavioral Health, ED, ICU, and post-procedural areas based on census and staffing needs — there is no designated home unit
- Deliver primary care in a Med Surg setting while providing support across units as directed
- Manage and monitor IV drips including heparin, insulin, Lasix, amiodarone, diltiazem, and digoxin
- Perform telemetry duties including rhythm strip interpretation, EKG/ECG reads, and dysrhythmia identification
- Maintain a patient ratio of 1:6 within a 130-bed facility
- Comply with holiday scheduling requirements, including working 1–2 of the designated summer holidays unless the unit is closed
Required Qualifications- Active Iowa RN license or active Compact/Multistate RN license at time of submission
- Minimum 24 months of experience in Progressive Care, Stepdown, Med Surg, Telemetry, or Med Surg/Telemetry
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency with drips: heparin, insulin, Lasix, amiodarone, diltiazem, and digoxin
- Ability to confidently read EKG/ECG strips and perform all telemetry-related responsibilities
- Active AHA or ARC BLS certification
- Active AHA or ARC ACLS certification
- Valid Driver's License
- EPIC EMR experience
- Must pass Basic Dysrhythmia Assessment with a score of 80% or higher during onboarding
- Discipline-specific skills checklist (Progressive Care, Stepdown, Med Surg, Tele, or Med/Tele)
Preferred Experience / Skills- De-Escalation Certificate (SAMA, MAB, MOAB, or CPI) — can be obtained during onboarding
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certificate — can be obtained during onboarding
- Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months
- First-time travelers accepted with a minimum of 2 years of hospital or medical center nursing experience
