Travel RN – Cardiac Med Intermediate (Stepdown) – Nights

Key Responsibilities- Utilize the nursing process to perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for all age groups on a 32-bed Cardiac Stepdown unit
- Monitor and manage patients including post-op CABG/valve surgery, thoracotomies, respiratory failure, and chest pain presentations
- Operate and manage unit-specific equipment including chest tubes, temporary pacemakers, and BiPAPs
- Coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality in accordance with applicable nursing practice standards
- Float as needed to similar or lower acuity units
Required Qualifications- Current RN license eligible for or active in the state of Missouri
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient Cardiac Stepdown experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Flu vaccination (or facility-approved exemption) required November 1 through April 1
- Availability for full-week day-shift orientation (night shift travelers orient on days)
Preferred Experience / Skills- NIHSS certification preferred
- Experience with EPIC EMR
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team player and contribute to a positive unit culture
