Travel RN – Cardiac Surgery Intermediate / Step Down (Nights)

Key Responsibilities- Utilize the nursing process to perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for cardiac/thoracic surgery, vascular surgery, respiratory distress, alcohol withdrawal, and insulin drip patients
- Monitor and manage patients using specialized equipment including Philips monitors, chest tubes, arterial lines, wound vacs, pacer boxes, pacing wires, EKOS, Nicom, BiPAP, and Airvo
- Coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
- Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers and maintain professional accountability
- Float on a rotational basis to critical care cluster or med/surg units as required
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information in accordance with applicable nursing practice standards
Required Qualifications- Current RN license; must be eligible for or currently hold licensure in the state of Missouri
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient Step Down / PCU experience
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required November 1 through April 1 (declinations not accepted)
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience caring for cardiac and thoracic surgery or vascular surgery patient populations
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR
- Demonstrated ability to work as a collaborative team player in a fast-paced clinical environment
