Key Responsibilities
- Plan and provide nursing care to patients in the step down unit
- Accurately interpret ECG rhythms and manage patient care during life-threatening emergencies
- Supervise and delegate care responsibilities to ancillary personnel within their scope of practice
- Monitor and manage cardiac and telemetry patients, responding appropriately to changes in condition
- Float to Medical-Surgical unit as needed
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of practice
- Associate Degree in Nursing (A.S.) or equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from an approved vendor
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification (required within 6 months of hire)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Successful completion of a Basic Dysrhythmia Course and/or Critical Care Course
- Minimum 6 months of cardiac step-down or telemetry experience within the last 2 years
