Key Responsibilities
  • Regularly assess patient needs and provide skilled nursing services in accordance with the physician-authorized plan of care and evidence-based nursing practice standards.
  • Provide direct patient care including medication administration, treatments, patient education, responding to call lights and alarms, and assisting with transfers.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to update or revise care plans to improve patient outcomes.
  • Function as a team leader and resource, delegating and providing direction to support staff as appropriate.
  • Maintain knowledge of and compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, as well as facility-specific policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required.
  • Neuro PCU experience required.
  • Active Michigan RN license in good standing (verified through LARA and/or Nursys).
  • Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification.
  • Active American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS certification.
  • Active NIHSS certification.
  • Current skills checklist (within the last year) pertinent to PCU specialty and two supervisory references completed within the last two years required.
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Recent travel nursing work history highly preferred.
  • Experience in a high-acuity setting with exposure to stroke, neuro, or stepdown patient populations.
