Registered Nurse – IMC / PCU / Stepdown (Pulmonary/GI)

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Nights | 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in a Pulmonary/GI Progressive Care Unit serving adult and geriatric populations with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5
- Perform continuous cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response as needed
- Administer IV therapy, blood products, and manage central and peripheral lines; administer common IV medications including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Heparin (protocol), and Insulin (protocol)
- Provide respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management; no ventilator management required on this unit
- Utilize rapid response and code teams and maintain appropriate isolation precautions
- Float within skillset as required; may work without CNA support
Required Qualifications- Active Virginia state or Compact RN license (pending license considered only for candidates holding a single-state license from a non-compact state)
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Minimum experience in a PCU, DOU, IMC, or Stepdown clinical setting
- Proficiency with Epic EMR
- Must be available to work every other weekend or up to 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling block
- Must be available to work at least one holiday per 13-week contract period
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience caring for adult and geriatric patients in a high-acuity hospital environment
- Familiarity with Pulmonary and/or GI patient populations
- Prior travel nursing experience welcomed; first-time travelers accepted
