Job Title

Registered Nurse – IMC / PCU / Stepdown (Medical-Renal)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | Weekend rotation required (every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week block) | One holiday required per 13-week contract

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric patients in a PCU/Medical-Renal stepdown setting at a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
  • Perform cardiac monitoring, interpret and manage dysrhythmias, and administer cardiac drips without titration
  • Manage IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central and peripheral line care
  • Provide respiratory support via nasal cannula and oxygen administration, including non-invasive airway management
  • Participate in rapid response and code team activations and maintain appropriate isolation precautions
  • Float within skillset to support gastrointestinal, pulmonary, and other surgical or procedural patient populations as needed
Required Qualifications
  • Active Virginia state RN license or valid Compact RN license (pending license accepted only for candidates holding a single-state license from a non-compact state)
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
  • Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system
  • Experience in a PCU, DOU, IMC, or Stepdown clinical setting
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience caring for patients with renal diagnoses or complex medical conditions managed by hospitalist teams
  • Familiarity with chronic ventilator patient care
  • Prior travel nursing experience welcomed; first-time travelers accepted
