Registered Nurse (RN) – Intermediate Care Unit (Days)
LocationReno, Nevada
Schedule / Job TypeContract (13 Weeks) | Travel | Full-Time | Onsite | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 36 Guaranteed Hours per Week
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients utilizing the full nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Manage moderately complex patient populations including post-ischemic/hemorrhagic stroke, sepsis, cardiac, and respiratory conditions within an 18-bed Intermediate Care Unit
- Administer and titrate vasopressors and other titratable drips; manage arterial lines, procedural sedation, thrombolytics, and trach patients
- Monitor and interpret ECG/telemetry rhythm strips continuously throughout the shift
- Coordinate care across a multidisciplinary team to achieve individualized patient outcomes over the entire episode of care
- Float to other units as needed up to competency level; availability for weekends, holidays, and one additional shift per 4-week schedule period is required
Required Qualifications- Active Nevada Registered Nurse (RN) license required prior to start
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of IMC/Stepdown experience
- Demonstrated experience with vasopressors, titratable drips, arterial lines, neuro-stepdown patients, procedural sedation, thrombolytics, and trach management
- Must successfully pass an ECG/Telemetry exam (reading and interpreting rhythm strips) prior to assignment; failure results in contract termination
Preferred Experience / Skills- Medical/Neuro ICU experience preferred
- Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced Level I or Level II Trauma Center environment
