Schedule / Job TypeContract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (6:30 PM – 6:30 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio for an adult population
- Monitor and manage patients with common diagnoses including CVA, TIA, shortness of breath, subdural hematoma, and generalized weakness
- Administer and manage common drips and medications including PCA pumps, Cardizem, and insulin
- Perform telemetry monitoring and respond appropriately to cardiac rhythm changes
- Conduct hourly rounding and maintain a strong focus on patient responsiveness and experience
- Float to medical-surgical areas as needed based on unit census and staffing needs
Required Qualifications- Active RN licensure in good standing
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- Telemetry competency
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR
- Experience with Alaris IV pumps
- Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior experience in a PCU, stepdown, or intermediate care setting
- Ability to manage a high-acuity patient load efficiently and independently
- Strong collaborative and team-oriented work style
