Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Critical Care)

Key Responsibilities- Provide intermediate-level critical care to patients requiring a level of care between intensive care and progressive care units within a 12-bed Stepdown Critical Care unit
- Collaborate with Critical Care Intensivists and interdisciplinary care teams to deliver safe, high-quality care to complex patient populations including traumas, surgical, transplant, lung disorder, and ventilated patients
- Manage and monitor IV drips as required across all assigned floors
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly using EPIC electronic health records
- Float within scope of practice to various units and campuses as needed to meet facility staffing needs
- Adhere to weekend and holiday scheduling requirements, including working 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period and 2 out of 3 major holidays
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska (pending license accepted; if not in hand at time of submission, start date will be booked six weeks out)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a large, urban hospital setting
- Active American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Active Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Proficiency with IV drip management
- EPIC electronic health records charting experience required
Preferred Experience / Skills- CCRN or NIH Stroke Scale certification strongly preferred
- Experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center
- Familiarity with care team models including CNAs, care techs, transport teams, and paramedics/swoop personnel
