Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (6:30 PM – 6:30 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio on a 55-bed unit
Monitor and manage adult patients presenting with diagnoses including CVA, TIA, shortness of breath, subdural hematoma, and weakness
Administer and manage common drips and medications including PCA pumps, Cardizem, and insulin
Perform telemetry monitoring and respond appropriately to cardiac changes
Conduct hourly rounding and maintain a strong focus on patient responsiveness and experience
Float to medical-surgical areas as needed based on unit census and staffing needs
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Current ACLS and BLS certifications
Telemetry competency
Proficiency with EPIC EMR
Experience with Alaris IV pumps
Ability to pass a required open-book skills examination with a minimum score of 90% during orientation
Preferred Experience / Skills
Previous PCU, IMC, or Stepdown nursing experience
Familiarity with mechanical lift equipment
Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced environment
