Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU / Stepdown)

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Full-Time | Onsite | Days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) | 3 x 12-hour shifts per week | 36 hours per week
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in a Progressive Care / Intermediate Care / Stepdown unit setting
- Monitor and assess patients requiring a higher level of observation than a general medical-surgical floor
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as ordered by the care team
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses accurately in the electronic health record
- Respond to changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate clinical actions in a timely manner
Required Qualifications- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina or a compact state license
- Current BLS certification
- Prior experience in a PCU, IMC, Stepdown, or similar intermediate care setting
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Preferred Experience / Skills- ACLS certification
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and interpretation
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems used in acute care environments
