Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Location

Fairmont, WV

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite | 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule | Rotating holiday requirement

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care on a 20-bed Stepdown/Med-Surg unit with patient ratios of 1:3 (Stepdown) and 1:5–6 (Floor)
  • Titrate drips including Heparin, Insulin, Cardizem, and Amiodarone per physician orders and unit protocols
  • Monitor and manage patients presenting with respiratory issues, weakness, UTI, AKI, and chest pain
  • Operate and oversee respiratory therapy equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen therapy
  • Collaborate with nurse aides (2 per shift), house supervisor, and interdisciplinary team to ensure safe patient outcomes
  • Adhere to unit dress code (royal blue scrubs) and complete unit/department-specific orientation upon hire
Required Qualifications
  • Active, unencumbered RN license in the state of West Virginia or compact equivalent
  • Current BLS certification (must be unexpired)
  • Current ACLS certification (must be unexpired)
  • Minimum of 1 year of Stepdown or PCU nursing experience
  • Experience titrating drips in a monitored care setting
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and cardiac strip interpretation
  • Experience managing patients on respiratory support equipment such as CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
  • Prior experience in a Med-Surg or step-down environment with mixed acuity patient populations
