    Travel RN – Intermediate Care / Step-Down (Night Shift)

    Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity intermediate care / progressive care step-down unit with a 3:1 patient ratio
    • Operate and monitor bedside equipment including cardiac monitors, Alaris IV pumps, heated high-flow O2, BiPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy setups, and feeding pumps
    • Perform physical assessments, intake and output documentation every 4 hours, hourly safety rounds, and repositioning/ADLs every 2 hours as indicated
    • Conduct bedside handoff at every shift change and participate in rapid response, ED admissions, and ICU transfers
    • Administer and titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips; assist with emergent cardioversion as needed
    • Float to related units including cardiac surgery IMC, med-tele, med-surg, and ortho-neuro as required
    Required Qualifications
    • Active, permanent Alaska RN license (no temporary licenses accepted); must be obtained prior to submission
    • Alaska RN fingerprinting must be completed during onboarding prior to beginning work
    • Minimum 1 year of step-down ICU / IMC / PCU experience
    • Minimum 1 year of telemetry / cardiac monitoring experience
    • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIH-SS) certifications
    • Minimum 2 years of overall RN experience
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience caring for tracheostomy patients requiring continuous BiPAP or long-term ventilator support
    • Experience managing titratable drips including dopamine, dobutamine, nitroglycerin, Cardene, ketamine, heparin, Cardizem, and amiodarone
    • Experience with CIWA assessments and alcohol/drug withdrawal treatment protocols
    • Proficiency with EPIC EMR
