Travel Nurse RN - Intermediate Care in Alliance, NE

Registered Nurse – Patient Care Unit (IMC/PCU/Stepdown)

Alliance, NE

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite

• Provide direct patient care on a 25-bed acute care unit, including floor patients and Medical Decision Unit beds
• Care for a patient population that includes COPD exacerbation, CHF, swing bed patients, wound care, post-amputation care, long-term antibiotic therapy, as well as some post-partum and pediatric patients
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:4, with occasional stretch to 1:5, under the support of a non-patient-carrying Charge Nurse on every shift
• Utilize central telemetry monitoring and portable telemetry monitors to assess and respond to patient status changes
• Document patient care using Meditech Expanse and operate Alaris infusion pumps
• May float to the Emergency Department in a task nurse capacity as needed

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Medical Surgical or Telemetry unit
• Previous experience working in a Critical Access Hospital setting
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association
• Reliable personal transportation required (rideshare services are not available in the area)

• Current PALS certification through the American Heart Association
• Prior experience with Meditech Expanse electronic health records
• Familiarity with swing bed care and complex wound management

• Work within a well-supported unit featuring dedicated Charge Nurse coverage every shift, on-site Social Services with Case Managers, 24/7 Lab services, and robust Therapy services with multiple daily patient visits
• Structured orientation program including classroom training and a preceptored shift to set you up for success from day one
