Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) registered nurse position located in Utica, New York. This role involves providing high-quality care in a specialized unit that manages adult patients with neuro, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory conditions. The unit features a variety of specialty equipment and chronic ventilation support, requiring dedicated nursing expertise.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications include current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS). Valid New York Registered Nurse license with all other RN licenses verified via NURSYS report. The candidate must have an active New York license and demonstrate at least 2 years of experience in Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) or Progressive Care Unit (PCU). Up-to-date resume reflecting travel experience and skills checklist matching the specialty required; drivers license with address matching demographics; Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience with EPIC.

- Additional Information: The unit encompasses 64 beds, including 15 designated neuro beds. Common diagnoses managed include neurological, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory conditions such as COPD, DKA, sepsis, myocardial infarction, and post-operation care. Specialty equipment used includes temporary pacers, chest tubes, arterial lines, Bipap machines, and Neptune Vapo. The unit cares for adult patients aged 18 years and older. Scrub color for this role is navy blue.
