Registered Nurse – ICU (Open Heart Intensive Care Unit)

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Night Shift | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Key Responsibilities- Provide intensive care nursing to critically ill and postoperative cardiothoracic, cardiovascular, and general surgery patients aged 18 and older
- Perform and manage invasive hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and arrhythmia monitoring and intervention
- Provide care for patients recovering from open heart surgery, including pacemaker/ICD management and IABP management
- Utilize advanced modalities including CRRT, ventricular assist device (VAD) management, and ECMO
- Deliver advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) as required
- Float to other ICU floors and medical-surgical floors as needed
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with no license hits
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA or ARC only)
- Experience with EPIC electronic health records
- Must pass EKG competency exam; candidates should be fully prepared prior to start
- Ability to work every other weekend (EOW) and holidays as needed
Preferred Experience / Skills- Strong proficiency with EPIC charting platform
- Experience caring for open heart surgery and complex cardiovascular patients
- Familiarity with ECMO and VAD management
