Registered Nurse – ICU (MedSurg ICU)
LocationWausau, WI
Schedule / Job TypeContract (13 Weeks) | 12-Hour Night Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 36 Hours Per Week | Every Other Weekend and Holiday Rotation
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in a 16-bed Medical-Surgical ICU setting with a 2:1 patient ratio
- Float between MS ICU and Neuro ICU units, with possible float to other critical care and inpatient units as needed
- Manage complex critical care cases including stroke care, cerebral monitoring and drains, mechanical ventilation, drips, chest tubes, spinal drains, JPs, and CRRT patients
- Care for patients presenting with conditions such as sepsis, respiratory failure, alcohol detox, and trauma including logging, motorcycle, and snowmobile accidents
- Collaborate with clinical leads, shift leaders, CNAs, and LPNs to ensure timely and effective patient care
- Adapt to variable shift lengths due to low census needs, which may include working 4 or 8 hours of a scheduled shift
Required Qualifications- Active Wisconsin RN License
- Current BLS, NIHSS, and ACLS certifications
- Minimum of 2 years of MedSurg and ICU experience
- Strong Neuro ICU experience required
- Ability to work independently, manage tasks efficiently, and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Experience / Skills- CCRN certification preferred
- Experience with EPIC electronic health records
- Level 2 trauma care experience
