This is done utilizing the nursing process in accordance with hospital standards and unit policies/procedures. The purpose is to monitor and evaluate patient functional status. Utilizes the nursing process to care for patients. Assesses, organizes, and completes patient care with consideration for patient age and cultural factors. Documents steps of the nursing process accurately. Utilizes proper medical terminology in all communications. Addresses problems and monitors progress toward goals. Facilitates patient discharge through timely referrals and patient education resources. Collaborates with other disciplines as appropriate. Supports unit and hospital goals through participation in educational activities. Demonstrates independent judgment in planning operations and making minor decisions in a complex field. Works directly with patients and/or customers. Engages with internal customers via telephone or face-to-face interaction. Collaborates effectively with other healthcare professionals and staff.
