Registered Nurse – ICU

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Nights (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM) | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in a 12-bed ICU setting with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio during night shifts
  • Manage and monitor patients with conditions including pneumonia, ARDS, DKA, sepsis, CVA post-tPA, renal failure, ETOH/OD, and post-cardiac intervention cases
  • Administer and titrate critical care drips including Amiodarone, Levophed, Propofol, Fentanyl, Precedex, Heparin (weight-based), and others
  • Operate and monitor ICU equipment including ventilators, arterial lines, and IABP; perform care in accordance with hypothermia protocol as needed
  • Collaborate with Respiratory Therapy, Patient Care Technicians, and Health Unit Secretaries available on unit; coordinate with on-site House Supervisor available 24/7
  • Float to Emergency Department or Medical-Surgical unit as needed based on experience
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license with eligibility to practice in Arizona
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Proficiency with basic ICU equipment including ventilators and arterial lines
  • Experience with common ICU drips and hemodynamic monitoring
  • Ability to meet a minimum of 3 weekend shifts per 4-week scheduling period
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience with cardiac cases including STEMIs, Left Heart Catheterizations, Coronary Interventions, and Temporary Pacemaker Insertion
  • Familiarity with equipment such as GE C-Arm, Volcano System, Getinge IABP, and cardiology hemodynamic monitoring systems
  • Experience with IABP management (skill preferred but not required)
  • Prior float experience in Emergency Department or Medical-Surgical settings
