Registered Nurse – Stepdown Critical Care (ICU)

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Nights (4x12 Hours, 19:00–07:30) | 13 or 26 week contract options available | 36 or 48 hour weekly options available | Onsite
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in a 12-bed Stepdown Critical Care unit within the Critical Care Division, serving patients requiring a level of care between intensive care and progressive care units
- Collaborate with Critical Care Intensivists and nursing staff to deliver care to complex patients including traumas, surgical, transplant, lung disorder, and ventilated patients
- Administer and manage IV drips as required across all floors
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
- Float within scope to meet facility staffing needs across various units and campuses as required
- Adhere to weekend and holiday scheduling requirements, including 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period and 2 out of 3 major holidays
Required Qualifications- Active RN license (Nebraska license required; pending license accepted if not in hand at time of submission, with start date adjusted accordingly)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a large, urban hospital setting
- Active AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Active Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Proficiency with EPIC charting
- Experience with IV drip management
Preferred Experience / Skills- CCRN or NIH stroke scale certification strongly preferred
- Experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center
- Familiarity with care team models including CNAs, care techs, transport teams, and paramedics
