Registered Nurse – ICU (Critical Care Float Pool)

Key Responsibilities- Float across multiple Critical Care Units including Surgical ICU, Medical ICU, Cardiac Care Unit, and Oncology ICU as needed
- Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients including trauma, surgical, neurological, cardiac, oncology, and complex medical cases
- Manage patients requiring increased levels of care such as DKA, ETOH withdrawal, chemo inductions, and post-cardiac procedure monitoring
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly using EPIC electronic health record system
- Adhere to unit-specific protocols and participate in holiday and weekend scheduling as required
Required Qualifications- Active RN license valid in Virginia or a compact license with proof provided at time of submittal
- Minimum 2 years of ICU/critical care experience, with specialty experience within the last year
- Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system
- Completed NIH and stroke education
- One supervisory reference required at time of submittal
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience floating across multiple ICU unit types (surgical, medical, cardiac, oncology)
- Flexible scheduling availability including every other weekend and potential holiday shifts
- Experience caring for neuro, open-heart surgery, or oncology critical care patient populations
