Job Title

Registered Nurse – ICU (Critical Care Float Pool)

Contract | Days (3x12 Hours, 7:00–19:00) | Weekends (Friday–Sunday or Saturday–Monday) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Float across multiple critical care units including Surgical ICU, Medical ICU, Cardiac Care Unit, and Oncology ICU as determined by facility need
  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill adults including trauma, surgical, neurological, cardiac, oncology, and medically complex patients
  • Manage patients requiring increased levels of care such as DKA, ETOH withdrawal, chemo inductions, and post-operative monitoring
  • Accurately document all patient care activities and assessments using EPIC electronic health records
  • Adhere to unit-specific protocols and participate in holiday scheduling as required during the assignment period
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Virginia or a compact license with proof provided at time of submittal
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience, with specialty experience within the last year required
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Current PALS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records
  • Completed NIH and stroke education
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience in a high-volume critical care environment with exposure to multiple ICU subspecialties
  • Flexible scheduling availability, including willingness to work every other weekend and holidays as needed
  • Experience floating between units based on census and staffing needs
