Registered Nurse – ICU (Float)

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 3 x 12-hour shifts | 36 hours per week | 13-week assignment
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in an ICU setting at a Level 1 Trauma facility, maintaining a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Float to Intermediate Care and Step-Down units as needed, with ratios up to 1:4–1:6
- Operate across multiple inpatient campuses within the regional health system, with shift location communicated same-day prior to shift start
- Deliver high-acuity nursing care in alignment with unit protocols and patient safety standards
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess, plan, and implement individualized patient care
Required Qualifications- Minimum 2 years of ICU RN experience
- Active North Carolina RN license or valid Compact RN license
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Current NIHSS certification
- Ability to float to Intermediate Care and Step-Down units as required
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior travel nursing experience
- Familiarity with Level 1 Trauma environments
- Flexibility and comfort with same-day assignment notifications and variable commute directions
