Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for patients with complex problems
- Assess patient and family readiness to learn, developmental level, and factors affecting ability to learn; utilize appropriate patient education materials
- Identify expected patient outcomes, revise plans of care as needed, and communicate relevant information to promote continuity of care across the interdisciplinary team
- Perform bedside point-of-care testing and apply healthcare organization standards, policies, and procedures in the delivery of care
- Assess and anticipate discharge needs of individual patients and families; consult appropriate resources for patients with complex care or high-risk discharge planning needs
- Participate in unit goal development, performance improvement activities, and promotion of a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from AHA or ARC
- Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing
- Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
- BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing
- Experience in an intensive care or critical care setting
