Registered Nurse – ICU

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 36 Hours per Week | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every 3rd Weekend and Holiday | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions, plans of care, and patient goals in the ICU setting, including ongoing reassessment and documentation.
  • Safely administer medications, intravenous therapy, and vasoactive/critical drips in accordance with physician orders, protocols, and established policies and procedures.
  • Perform accurate and timely identification of cardiac arrhythmias and interpretation of EKG configuration changes; institute, monitor, and document thrombolytic and anticoagulation therapy.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in mechanical ventilation management, including initiation, maintenance, suctioning, troubleshooting, weaning, and accurate interpretation of arterial blood gases and pulse oximetry.
  • Provide ongoing assessment and monitoring of patients in the immediate post-operative phase; implement VAP bundle components consistently and per protocol.
  • Participate actively in daily multidisciplinary rounds and collaborate on discharge planning, incorporating appropriate support systems and resources for patients and families.
Required Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Massachusetts RN License.
  • ACLS upon hire, or active BLS certification with the ability to obtain AHA ACLS within 60 days of hire.
  • Previous telemetry experience required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of medical-surgical experience.
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Prior ICU experience strongly preferred.
  • CCRN certification preferred.
