Registered Nurse – ICU (Travel Contract)

Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

• Provide direct patient care in an ICU setting with patient populations including neurosurgical, post-stroke, respiratory failure, renal failure, post-surgical, trauma, sepsis/MODS, heart failure, and post-cardiac cath patients
• Manage ventilators, IV drip titration, telemetry monitoring, conscious sedation, and dysrhythmia and emergency managementli>Perform neurological assessments including management of EVD and post-neurosurgical patients
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2–3
• Float to Stepdown Unit and, as needed, to ED or Med-Surg to care for ICU-level patients being held in those units
• Complete required pre-start modules and EKG/telemetry competency testing prior to orientation

• Active Virginia RN license or Compact RN license – must be in hand at time of submission; no exceptions
• BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association required
• NIHSS certification required
• Strong neurological nursing experience required, including post-neurosurgical care, EVD management, and stroke care
• Proficiency in EPIC electronic health records – required, no exceptions
• Must pass facility EKG/telemetry competency test with a score of 80% or higher prior to start (one attempt, no remediation)

• Minimum 3 years of critical care experience preferred; strong candidates with less experience will be considered
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
