    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – ICU Float Pool

    Location

    Charlottesville, VA

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3x12-Hour Shifts) | 36 or 48 hours per week available | Every other weekend and every other holiday required

    Key Responsibilities
    • Float to various ICU and intermediate care units including Medical ICU, Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU, Coronary Care Unit, Surgical Trauma ICU (Level 1), Neuro & Neurosurgery ICU, and a Critical Care and Intermediate Care Special Pathogens Unit
    • Provide direct patient care in intermediate care settings including Thoracic Cardiovascular, Surgical Trauma, and Neuro & Neurosurgery Intermediate Units
    • Care for ED boarders — patients admitted to the hospital who are temporarily boarding in the Emergency Department pending room assignment
    • Adhere to facility float pool policies and float within scope of practice as needed across assigned units
    • Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Epic electronic health records
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Virginia RN license (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday prior to start date)
    • BLS certification required
    • ACLS certification required
    • Proficiency with Epic electronic health records system required
    • Must meet all ICU float pool experience requirements
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
    • Experience across multiple critical care or intermediate care specialties
    • Familiarity with high-acuity patient populations including trauma, cardiovascular, neurological, and infectious disease cases
