    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – ICU Float Pool

    Location

    Charlottesville, VA

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Nights (4x12 Hours, 19:00–07:00) | Onsite | 36 or 48 hours per week available | Every other weekend and every other holiday required

    Key Responsibilities
    • Float to various ICU and intermediate care units including Medical ICU, Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU, Coronary Care Unit, Surgical Trauma ICU (Level 1), Neuro & Neurosurgery ICU, and a Critical Care/Intermediate Care Special Pathogens Unit
    • Provide direct patient care in Thoracic Cardiovascular Intermediate, Surgical Trauma Intermediate, and Neuro & Neurosurgery Intermediate units as assigned
    • Manage care for ED boarders — patients admitted to the hospital but temporarily boarding in the ED prior to room assignment
    • Float within scope of practice across units as determined by census and staffing needs
    • Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Epic electronic health records
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Virginia RN license (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday prior to start date)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
    • Demonstrated Epic electronic health records experience
    • Ability to adhere to facility float pool policies and float within scope of practice as needed
    • Nursys verification required at time of submission
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
    • Prior experience across multiple ICU or intermediate care specialties
    • Experience in a Level 1 Trauma or high-acuity critical care environment
