Job Title

Registered Nurse – ICU Float Pool

Location

Charlottesville, VA

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:00) | 36 or 48 hours per week available | Every other weekend and every other holiday required

Key Responsibilities
  • Float to various ICU and intermediate care units including Medical ICU, Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU, Coronary Care Unit, Surgical Trauma ICU (Level 1), Neuro & Neurosurgery ICU, and a Critical Care/Intermediate Care Special Pathogens Unit
  • Provide direct patient care in Thoracic Cardiovascular, Surgical Trauma, and Neuro & Neurosurgery Intermediate Care units as assigned
  • Care for ED boarders — patients admitted to the hospital but temporarily boarding in the ED prior to room assignment
  • Adhere to facility float pool policies and float within scope of practice as needed
  • Accurately document patient care and clinical information using Epic EHR
Required Qualifications
  • Active Virginia RN license (pending license accepted at time of submission; must be in-hand by the Wednesday prior to start date)
  • Current BLS certification (copy required at submission)
  • Current ACLS certification (copy required at submission)
  • Proficiency with Epic electronic health records
  • Nursys verification required for submittal
  • Compliance with facility float pool policy
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Prior experience across multiple ICU or intermediate care specialties
  • Experience with high-acuity and Level 1 trauma patient populations
