Job Title
Registered Nurse – ICU Float Pool
LocationCharlottesville, VA
Schedule / Job TypeContract | Nights (4x12 Hours, 19:00–07:00) | Onsite | 36 or 48 hours per week available | Every other weekend and every other holiday required
Key Responsibilities- Float to various ICU and intermediate care units including Medical ICU, Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU, Coronary Care Unit, Surgical Trauma ICU (Level 1), Neuro & Neurosurgery ICU, and a Critical Care/Intermediate Care Special Pathogens Unit
- Provide direct patient care in Thoracic Cardiovascular Intermediate, Surgical Trauma Intermediate, and Neuro & Neurosurgery Intermediate units as assigned
- Manage care for ED boarders — patients admitted to the hospital but temporarily boarding in the ED prior to room assignment
- Float within scope of practice across units as determined by census and staffing needs
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Epic electronic health records
Required Qualifications- Active Virginia RN license (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday prior to start date)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
- Demonstrated Epic electronic health records experience
- Ability to adhere to facility float pool policies and float within scope of practice as needed
- Nursys verification required at time of submission
Preferred Experience / Skills- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Prior experience across multiple ICU or intermediate care specialties
- Experience in a Level 1 Trauma or high-acuity critical care environment
