Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with physicians to develop and evaluate individualized patient care plans aimed at returning patients to optimal health.
  • Provide direct bedside nursing care and carry out medical orders in an ICU setting.
  • Delegate and coordinate tasks and assignments for nursing assistants and ancillary personnel, functioning as a team leader to ensure appropriate patient placement and care delivery.
  • Identify and communicate patients' ongoing and discharge/transfer teaching needs, participating in planning conferences with appropriate resource personnel.
  • Integrate evidence-based knowledge into practice and assume responsibility for ongoing professional growth and development.
  • Precept and mentor new employees and students; teach and guide professional and ancillary staff.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan.
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required.
  • Ability and willingness to float to the Emergency Department and Step-Down unit as needed.
  • Current BLS (AHA) certification required.
  • Current ACLS certification required.
  • Current NIHSS certification required.
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Certifications in TCAR, TNCC, CCRN, or SCRN are a plus.
  • Prior travel nursing experience preferred.
  • Neurosurgical experience preferred.
  • Open heart experience preferred.
