ICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Mid 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year in ICU, preferred 2-3 years License: Valid Compact license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Cardiac and neuro experience General surgery experience Trauma experience Description: This position requires an ICU Registered Nurse. The nurse will float between units as needed. Weekends are required every other weekend. Expected patient ratios are 1:2-1:3. Previous charge experience is preferred, with at least 1.5 years of experience. The following skills are required: Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure. Arterial line management and central line care/management. Continuous IV sedation. Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips. BiPAP/CPAP management and maintenance. Care of ventilated patients. Interpretation of arterial blood gases. Suctioning (ETT, NT) and isolation precautions/PPE. The facility provides interdisciplinary support teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy. Common patient diagnoses include trauma, cardiovascular surgery, and general surgery. Special equipment used includes ECMO, Impella, IABP, and CRRT. Applicants should possess flexibility and willingness to float if required.
