Key Responsibilities of the RN - ICU - Intensive Care Unit
  • Uses the nursing process to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Collects data relevant to patient's condition and reports critical values timely.
  • Assesses appropriate lab and diagnostic data.
  • Documents findings of physical assessment and identifies abnormal findings.
  • Develops plan of care based on patient need.
  • Advocates on behalf of the patient and their family.
  • Performs interventions according to patient need and hospital policy.
  • Evaluates patient outcomes in relation to goals.
  • Adheres to all safety guidelines with utmost care when interacting with patients.
  • Demonstrates a professional demeanor in interactions and maintains communication with management.
  • Floats to North 2, North 3, ICU/CCU, or ED as needed.
  • Other duties as deemed appropriate by management.

Requirements of the RN - ICU - Intensive Care Unit
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current Licensure to practice in New York State.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS provider certifications from the American Heart Association.
  • Recent Emergency Department and critical care experience.
  • NIHSS Certification.
  • Moderate Sedation Certification.
  • Current TNCC.
  • Must be able to work every other weekend.
