Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum Years of Experience: 3 years Critical Care experience preferred. License: VA or Compact License required at the time of submittal. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: Strong neuro experience (post-neurosurgical, EVD, and stroke). Proficiency in EPIC charting system. Willing to float to Stepdown Unit, ED, and MedSurg to care for ICU patients. Description: Chesapeake is located in a beautiful area known for its outdoor activities. It offers trails for all levels of hikers and over 20 waterways to explore. Candidates must have strong neuro experience. No prior license or background hits will be considered. Patient populations include neurosurgical and post-stroke patients. Experience with respiratory failure, renal failure, post-surgical, trauma, sepsis, and heart failure is required. Skills required include management of ventilated patients, IV drip titration, telemetry monitoring, and emergency management. Candidates must be familiar with post-craniotomy and post-neurosurgery care. Instrumentation skills related to IV management, arterial lines, and conscious sedation are essential. Ratios will be 1:2-3. Previous charge experience is preferred. Charting experience in Epic is mandatory. Float requirements may include step down, ED, and med-surg. Local candidates residing less than 50 miles from the facility will not be considered. Fit testing for EKG competencies is mandatory prior to starting. Modules required for compliance will need to be completed before orientation.
