Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in ICU and Emergency Room License: Current licensure to practice as a registered nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, Moderate Sedation, NIHSS Must-Have: Ability to float to Critical Care and Emergency Departments Description: Uses the nursing process to provide comprehensive patient care. Collects data relevant to the patient’s condition and reports critical values to the physician in a timely manner. Assesses appropriate lab and diagnostic data. Documents findings of physical assessment and is able to identify abnormal findings. Develops a plan of care based on the patient’s needs. Advocates on behalf of the patient and their family. Performs interventions according to patient needs and hospital policy. Evaluates patient outcomes in relation to goals. Adheres to all safety guidelines and exercises utmost care when interacting with patients. Demonstrates a professional demeanor in interactions with patients, families, peers, and staff. Maintains open communication with nursing management. Completes other duties as deemed appropriate by management. Floats to North 2, North 3, ICU/CCU, or Emergency Department as needed. Requirements, Experience and Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing. Current licensure to practice. Current BLS provider certification from the American Heart Association. Current ACLS provider certification from the American Heart Association. Current PALS provider certification from the American Heart Association. Recent Emergency Department experience. Recent critical care experience. NIHSS Certification. Moderate Sedation Certification. Current TNCC certification. Must be able to work every other weekend.
